3mm Metallic Sequin Yarn — Lurex Binder

Standard sequin yarn uses a plain polyester binder, chosen to disappear. Here we use a fine lurex binder instead, so the thread between the discs catches light as well. The effect is a continuous line of shine rather than a row of separate points.

It suits ethnic and festive wear, where the garment is usually meant to be seen under strong light and a quiet binder would waste the effect. Paired with the antique metallic shades it also works well as a hand embroidery thread.

The lurex binder is slightly less forgiving under tension than polyester, so we run it at 500 turns per metre rather than 480 to keep the discs locked. If your knitting tension runs high, ask us for a sample length and run it on your own machine before ordering.
