2mm Sequin Yarn — Fine Knit

The 2mm disc is for work where a 3mm sequin would look heavy. Fine gauge knitwear from 12 gauge upwards, machine embroidery, and narrow trims where the yarn has to pass through a small eye.

We run this one matte by default. At this size a glossy disc tends to read as glitter rather than sequin, and buyers making quiet, expensive-looking garments generally do not want that. Glossy is available if you ask for it.

Yield is high — around 12,000 metres to the kilo — because the discs weigh very little. That makes it the cheapest quality per metre in the range even though the per-kilo rate is not the lowest. Worth working out on a per-garment basis before you compare prices.

Because the disc is small, feed accuracy matters more here than anywhere else in the range. We run this quality at a lower spindle speed to keep the pitch even, which is why the lead time is a couple of days longer than the 3mm.
